Our symphonic journey starts with John Williams at the Statue of Liberty, itself celebrating its 140th birthday (and the 40th anniversary of this piece being written for it). Our two major works for this concert, Florence Price’s The Mississippi River and Ferde Grofe’s Grand Canyon Suite, will take us to those incredible natural landmarks. We end our tour in Oregon, the setting of the great film Mr. Holland’s Opus. We dedicate this piece to the teachers, doctors, nurses, and all public service workers who have made America exceptional for 250 years and counting!
